Planetoid Game - User Manual
Installation Instructions
1. Your computer needs to have OpenGL installed in order to run this game.
For instructions on how to install OpenGL, you can look at
this tutorial.
2. Download all necessary files.
Right click here and select "Save Target As" or "Save Link As" and save the zip file
to your computer.
3. Install program.
Once you have completed the download, locate the zip file and decompress it to whatever directory you like (I used C:/Planetoid).
4. Run program.
Locate the file "Planetoid.exe" and run it. Make sure all the sound files are in the same directory or it will not run properly.
That's it!
Play Instructions
Playing the game is quite simple. All you have to do is move your mouse and your ship will turn to point towards whereever your mouse
is pointing.
Left-click to fire. The faster you click the faster you fire.
You also have a limited reserve of a-bombs which will inflict 100 damage on anything on the screen. You can launch one by pressing
the 'B' key.
Pausing the game is also possible by pressing the 'P' key. Press the 'P' key again to unpause the game.
Collecting Powerups
Enemies will randomly drop powerups. To obtain these powerups you must shoot them before they float off the screen. You will receive
visual confirmation whenever you get a powerup.
The powerups are as follows:
 |
Hit Point Powerup - This is the most common powerup. It will restore 5 hit-points to your ship. |
 |
Damage Powerup - This will add to the damage of your main weapon and any utilities that you have acquired. |
 |
Weapon Utility Powerup - This will add one heat-seeking weapon to your arsenal. These weapons are automatically fired every
second. |
 |
Weapon Pass Powerup - This will upgrade your main cannon to be able to pass through enemies, inflicting its damage on
multiple enemies. |
 |
A-Bomb Powerup - This will give you one more a-bomb to work with. |
